Strathclyde Fluidised Bed
Composite recycling
Rig Construction
The construction of the fluidised bed rig had to be postponed as the design and optimisation of the heating system took longer than expected. The rig metalwork has been completed and is expected to be delivered to the University during the week beginning 20th April 2015.
The metalwork of the rig was produced by Malakoff Ltd. who are project sponsors. The production of the rig design was a relatively heavy engineering job and thus required an outside engineering firm. Through their sponsorship, Malakoff Ltd. supplied the materials and man-hours required to manufacture the rig free of charge.
After the metalwork is delivered it will be assembled within the University of Strathclyde. The heating system and fan-blower will then be attached to allow testing.
