Risk Management

It was deemed necessary to investigate the risks prevalent in the project. The four main risks to the project were identified as: safety of the group members; the project adhering to the budget; the project being completed to the defined timescale; and the proper operation of the fluidised bed.

 

A risk project risk assessment was created to aid the management and mitigation of risks. Risks were identified through group discussion and research carried out by individual group members. The risks were given a Likelihood and Severity rating (1 to 5); the product of which constitutes the overall Risk Rating. The Risk Rating was used to classify the risk into categories with 1-8 representing a ‘Low’ risk; 9-16 representing a ‘Medium’ risk; and 17 to 25 representing a ‘High’ risk. Risk mitigation and monitoring strategies were also defined.

 

The project risk assessment examined general risks and risks specific to subsections of the project. The general risk assessment is shown below.
