Budget Management
The roles of the financial manager involved monitoring and control of the project budget. All quotes and communication with various companies were documented throughout the project duration not only to keep valid records, but to pass onto future students and the Advanced Composites Group.
The financial manager was expected to review and present the cost performances of the project on a monthly basis to the project team. The group was assigned a budget of £600 and received additional funding from the Advanced Composites Group. Funding was also realised through the sponsorship of Malakoff Ltd. which greatly reduced manufacturing costs.
The financial manager worked in conjunction with the project manager to manage the cost aspects of material procurement.
